Why Sorbas? Sorbas is a municipality of Almería province, in the autonomous community of Andalusia, is also known as Cuenca la Chica. It is an extremely impressive village. It is located on a small plateau over the Río Aguas, and its white houses are almost suspended over the ravine. 

Where to Move: In Sorbas there is an option in living in the center of the town where it's more rural and the option of further away in the likes of the campo or on the edge of the town where the gas station, school, bars and a supermarket are.

There isn't as much for younger people that are not independent & not enough buses to travel to other towns.

And what’s my new local?

Sorbas is known for its Olive Factory and caves. There is much to do when you have a day off from school or off work like going to explore the caves with guides, pottery, museums, “Fiestas” are a huge thing for the locals, you can visit Mini Hollywood to see the animals, see races at the Race Track, having a picnic or barbeque in the “merendero” or even go to the National park for a walk or hike or even enjoy the beauty from the lights hitting off the mountains when it's dark.

Schools and supermarkets?

-Schools: one infant school (Escuela Infantil Sorbas), two primary schools (Colegio Público Rural Lusor and Colegio Público Padre Gonzales Ros) and a secondary school (IES Río Aguas).

-Supermarkets: there are three supermarkets and one grocery store:Día, Anaís Coviran, Moreno Mañas, SuperSorbas and La Tienda De Angeles.

Among the web of steep, narrow streets in Arabic style, there are various viewpoints - Porche, Castillo, Calvario and Torreta - from which one can look at and contemplate the ‘hanging’ houses and the beautiful environment that surrounds them.
